PALETTE:
Sponge and Smudge  Change the saturation of colors by sponging with specific criteria at the bottom of the toolbar.  Smudge up some seams or light errors.
Dodge and Burn   Change the exposure of images by utilizing options at the bottom of the toolbar for each tool before painting over any area.             
Clone Stamp  Use the Alt + click to define a reference point to clone.  Then paint with the mouse.  Let go of the left mouse frequently to minimize digital echoes.  Change reference point, brush size and strength for different areas of the image.

Click on the How To tab in the Elements palette well.

PHOTOMERGE

Use the following images to complete the photomerge options.  Observe how lighting situations and other composition variables influence the quality of the merge.

 

 

Use the crop, clone stamp, and dodge/burn tools to patch up digital errors in the merge.

HARVEST TIME

Create a print publication real quick!  Follow these steps for a 4" by 6" postcard effect.

1.  Create a new document (File>New) and set the size as 4” x 6”.

2.  Design a background by utilizing the Gradient tool on the palette or the Effects tab on the palette well.

3.  Open the picture you want to include on the postcard.  Select the section of the picture you want on your postcard.  Then Move it to your postcard.  Resize or Move again if necessary.

4.  Add a layered effect by utilizing the Layer Styles in the palette well.

5.  Add text by using the Text tool on the palette. 

6.  Add other filters and objects using the Toolbar and Palette.  Don’t forget to save!  Save As .psd format if you want to edit effects and layers later.  Save As .jpg if it is finished and ready to share over email or print.

Use the multiple options under File to create print or on-line documents.  Sites such as PhotoGarden allow for easy storage, security, prints, and gifts.
