WHICH VIEW FOR YOU?
The older versions of PowerPoint gave you different sections in the window to create and edit slides
In Office 2007, PowerPoint uses the upper toolbar to offer different commands and operations
NEW PRESENTATIONS AND NEW SLIDES
Create a presentation from a Template using the File menu or Office button (upper left hand side). Choose a Template design and View the Slide Show. Also try to edit some content.
Create a New Blank presentation using the File menu or Office button (upper left hand side). Use the Layout and Design menus to create multiple slides with different content structures.
INSERTING TEXT
Click on an existing text box and change the words, font, size, and color.
Draw a new text box using Insert menu or the Drawing Palette. Type in text and change the color of text background.
Select the Outline View (left hand side below toolbar) to type in text in outline format (use the tab and tab-shift keys to change the heading type or slide placement).
INSERTING OTHER OBJECTS
Use the Layout menu to include a picture and a text box. Change the size and location of both the picture and text.
Insert another picture by using the Toolbar.
Click on the word art icon and draw a box. Format the word-art using the toolbar when you double click on the box.
Try to Insert a line, circle, rectangle, or custom shapes and draw some shapes. Visit Format to change the appearance. Move one of the shapes in front of the textbox. What happens? Try to keep the shape in front of the text box without changing the spacing of the text. Hint: click on Draw on the Drawing Palette and change the Order of the objects.
UNCOVER THE POWER OF THE RIGHT CLICK AND KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
Many of the above tasks can be accomplished by clicking on an object with the right mouse button or by using the keyboard shortcuts presented on the toolbar.
