In the words of Gomez Addams, "It's Showtime!" |
WON'T YOU BE MINE?
Follow the procedure below to create your own Valentine (or other card) using the Elements software.
| 1. Start Elements and select File > New. Set the Size (6" by 4"), Resolution (300 pix/in), Mode (RGB), and Background (White). | |
| 2. Draw a large heart in the middle of your card with the Shape tool and the bottom row of toolbar. | |
| 3. Use the File > Open menu to browse for a picture you want to move to your card. | |
| 4. Drag & drop the picture onto your card using the Move tool. | |
| 5. Group the picture to the heart by dragging the Layers Palette Window onto the workspace. Move your mouse between the picture and heart Layers and Alt + click to group your picture so that it will only be visible within the heart. | |
| 6. Click on the picture layer and use the Eraser tool to remove parts of the picture. | |
| 7. Use the Move tool to resize, rotate, and relocate your heart and/or picture. | |
| 8. Use the Text tool and bottom row of toolbar to type in text. | |
| 9. Use the Shape and painting tools to add other desired effects. | |
| 10. Don't foget to Save your card and change the
print Properties if you decide to print at home with photo quality paper.
Choose File > Save As to create a .jpg file that is easier to transfer for
on-line albums or include in other applications (like MS Word, PowerPoint).
